In alignment with our trajectory of growth, Upya is actively seeking a dynamic and motivated Business Development Manager who has deep expertise and a network in the Carbon Credits space. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a fast-growing team dedicated to making a positive impact on the planet through carbon offset solutions. The role can be based in our Lisbon office or remote.

Joining Upya as the Business Development Manager you will be a crucial player in our journey, leading our sales endeavors to new heights. Your role involves expanding our market reach in the Carbon Credits space, refining lead generation and conversion tactics, and initiating new strategic alliances.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Business Development Manager in Carbon Credits, you will:

  • Become our very own Upya Expert when it comes to our platform and products
  • Demonstrate the business benefits embedded in Upya’s products with enthusiasm
  • Independently drive meaningful conversations and foster relationships to build trust with potential customers; be comfortable having discussions with C-level stakeholders
  • Craft and implement a robust sales strategy targeting Midsize and Enterprises
  • Explore and capitalize on new business avenues, initiating strategic alliances
  • Work in tandem with the marketing and product teams to refine lead generation and conversion tactics.
  • Stay abreast of Carbon Credits trends and competitor strategies to guide informed, impactful decisions.

Ideal candidate

  • At least 3 years expertise in the Carbon Credit industry with existing network
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical issues into compelling business benefits
  • Exceptional client management skills and be able to work with Customers across different levels of the organization to assess their needs, process gaps and identify recommendations and automation opportunities
  • Minimum of 3 years’ verifiable experience of top-tier sales
  • A proven track record of scaling sales and consistently securing substantial contracts.
  • Stellar communication skills, with proficiency in negotiating and forging lasting relationships.
  • A tech-forward perspective, well-versed in the latest in digital sales methodologies.
  • Experience working in Google Workspace, and Slack
  • High ambition, target-driven mindset, thriving in the dynamic pulse of startup culture.
  • Fluent in English, with proficiency in additional languages as a plus (French is a big bonus!)
